Vodafone will launch 4G Service in Uk on 29 August 2013

Vodafone has revealed that it will launch its 4G service on 29 August to customers in London after investing £900m in the network.

It will roll out to 12 other cities including Manchester, Leeds and Sheffield by the end of the year, the firm said.

Prices for customers will begin at £26 per month for a SIM only deal with a 12-month contract.

Last week O2 announced plans to launch its own 4G service on the same day.

O2's lowest tariff is also £26 per month. EE, the first network to offer the faster mobile internet service, has a base tariff of £21 per month.

Three has said it plans to launch a fourth 4G network before the end of the year.

Bundled content
Vodafone has partnered with the music service Spotify and TV channel Sky Sport for its launch, to offer additional content to its 4G customers.

It is also providing unlimited data-use within the UK for the first three months of contracts, but otherwise imposes the maximum of an eight gigabyte cap. Vodafone said this would help customers pick the right data plan.

Consumer groups have been critical about the fact that only Three has committed itself to offering unlimited data as a long-term option.

All the networks took part in an auction run by regulator Ofcom to buy parts of the 4G spectrum earlier this year.

At the time Ofcom's chief executive Ed Richards described the sale as "a positive outcome for competition" in the UK.

"4G coverage will extend far beyond that of existing 3G services, covering 98% of the UK population indoors - and even more when outdoors - which is good news for parts of the country currently underserved by mobile broadband," he said.

Both EE and Vodafone purchased bands in the 2.6GHz range as well as the 800MHz part of the radio spectrum. O2 only bought bands in the lower range.

The 2.6GHz bands delivers faster speeds but across smaller distances. The 800MHz bands - previously used by the TV signals - are best for providing long-distance 4G services and indoor coverage.

"It's not just about speed issue but also capacity," Matthew Howett, an analyst at the telecoms consultancy Ovum, told the BBC earlier.

"The higher frequency spectrum effectively has fatter pipes - you can get more data through them.

"When lots of people are using 4G to do things like streaming high definition video, it's important not just to have the availability of the signal but also that the pipe is wide enough to carry all that traffic."

Note 3 Launching on September 4

Galaxy Note III to be Launched on September 4

The next generation Galaxy Note phablet from Samsung is one of the most anticipated devices of the year, so understandably rumors about it aren't hard to come by. According to latest report the Galaxy Note III will be announced two days before IFA 2013 kicks off - on September 4.

The report also says Samsung Galaxy Note III is said to sport a 5.7" Super AMOLED display, rather than the 6" unit that was most frequently mentioned so far. The 1080p resolution is still expected to feature a Snapdragon 800 chipset or an Exynos 5 Octa processor along with 3 GB of RAM.

Furthermore, the third generation Galaxy Note phablet is said to come out with a 13 megapixel rear camera and will be slightly thinner than the Galaxy Note II with its profile measuring 8mm.

Unfortunately, there is no official word from Samsung just yet, but the IFA 2013 launch seems inevitable, considering the strong competition in the phablet club.

10 Ways To Improve Your Google Rank For Best result

10 Ways To Improve Your Google Rank For Best result

1. Pool your votes. Often business owners don’t realize that www.yourwebsite.com and http://yourwebsite.com  are seen as different pages by search engines. This can result in any links that you receive being diluted between the two pages. It’s the equivalent of a political party splitting up and the votes being shared by the two new parties. The solution to this common problem is to tell Google that you want all the votes from www.yourwebsite.com to be counted towards http://yourwebsite.com. This can be easily implemented by using a permanent (known as a 301) redirect from one of the pages to the other.

2. Provide testimonials. Every company relies on other businesses to supply products and services. Brainstorm a list of all the businesses that you use and recommend and offer to provide these businesses with testimonials. Often companies will have a dedicated page on their website for testimonials, acting as social proof to potential customers. Usually the company will jump at the chance to receive a testimonial from a satisfied customer and will be more than happy to link back to your website. This technique is a win-win for both websites and helps cultivate a good relationship with suppliers.

3. Offer discounts. Everyone loves a good deal and clubs and organizations love to promote such benefits to their members. Offering an exclusive discount to a club or organization is a highly effective way of receiving a link. I have used this technique to offer university students discounts which then allowed us to receive excellent links from these authoritative websites.

4. Donate to charity. Often charities will list their donors and benefactors on their website. If there is a relevant charity your business can donate to, asked to be listed on this page with a link back to your website.

5. Volunteer your services. If your business can’t afford to donate money to a charity, maybe you could offer your services. Alternatively, you could have a staff team-building day on which you help a local charity. This is good for moral and can help promote your company.

6. Locate references without links. Look for web pages that mention your business or website. Without a link back to your site, Google will not count the citation as a vote. You can use Google Alerts to create an automated notification, so that anytime a website mentions your business, you will receive an e-mail. You can then get in touch and ask them to provide a link back to your website.

7. Book speaking engagements. A short biography of the speaker is usually included on the event website. This is an excellent opportunity to include a link back to your business. If members of your staff spoke at events for a previous employer, ask them to update the biography to include a link to your company (the person’s currently employer) also.

8. Create a superior product or service. This helps to create buzz and adds character to your business and website. For example, this $200,000 Christmas dinner menu created a great deal of media attention (and links) for the business owner.

9. Sponsor photo contests. Ask your customers to send photos of themselves using your product or service in a creative way. Not only does this provide interesting content for your site but, people love to win things. The photos can be uploaded to your company’s Flickr and Pinterest accounts, providing more opportunities to engage with potential customers. Then use Google reverse image search to find other websites that use your images. Asking them to credit your site as the source, results in even more links back.

10. Target the right keywords. One of the biggest mistakes that websites make is targeting the wrong keywords. Take the time to analyze the keywords that produce conversions and make you money. One way to do this is to have analytics software, like Google Analytics, installed on your website so that you can see how visitors are interacting and finding your site. Often business target broad, high-volume keywords that convert well, instead of ranking keywords based on multiples of volume, competitiveness and conversion rate.

Google Analytics is free and simple to install. After signing up for an account, you are given a JavaScript code that is placed on every page of your site. After verifying the code has been installed correctly, you should immediately start receiving insights into how visitors are arriving at your website, including which keywords that are causing them to engage (for example by making a purchase or writing a comment) and which pages are scaring them off.

How To Increase your Page Views?

How to increase your page views For Your Blog Or Website- Best Answer

1 – Create “pillar content”

Pillar content is informative that attracts most of the readers. Pillars keep buildings from falling to the ground and the same principle applies to blogging. Pillar content should have all in and out information that’s packed full of useful hints and tips. Usually the pillar content is over 1000 words and has lots of great value. In addition, pillar content is referred as link worthy. You want to make your blog as resourceful. Your aim is to encourage your readers to visit frequently your posts.

Focus on developing a resource for your blog that has useful information and provides the reader with answers to their problems.

2 – Interlink your posts

Wikipedia, the Internet’s most popular encyclopedia uses internal links constantly and consistently. Good referencing is an excellent method of obtaining more page views.

When you create a new article, review your previous articles and find out what content is relevant. The beauty of Wikipedia is that it constantly interlinks information. If you’re trying to increase your search engine ranking for a certain article, try to interlink your content together.

Google loves natural linking. You have the distant advantage of interlinking of your posts together and using key phrases rich anchor text.

Remember to strike a balance when interlinking your posts. Avoid applying too many links in your article – otherwise your reader will become distracted from the other original article.

3- Create a list post of your best blog articles

This is an easy method to round up a variety of articles that you feel are relevant to your reader. List posts also provide opportunities for your readers to click through further on your blog. Plus this method allows you to showcase some of your classic posts.

4 – Add a Sitemap

Usability is so important. You must install a sitemap plug-in. I suggest using the PS Auto Sitemap. It’s easy to install. You may have a monthly archive in your blog sidebar – it’s not user friendly – all it tells me how many articles you’ve created in a month. Blog readers are lazy. Help your blog readers out. You must be more concise.

A sitemap is the index of your website. A good site map is displayed in logical order to make it easier for you. Google loves Sitemaps too. The search engines can crawl your content faster and it’s a win-win situation for everyone.

5 – Use Relevant Categories

If you’re going to display links in the sidebar use categories, because it’s relevancy that your readers want. Don’t make the reader think! Thinking requires effort. Usability is crucial. A good blogger or web designer understands the importance of usability.

Relevant categories will provide clarity – not only for the readers but for you also. You must focus on making a streamline blog where articles can be linked. Categories are excellent for readers, because they can search for relevant criteria in one area.

6 – Give away something

To create a successful online presence we must contribute. Create something for free. Don’t even expect an email address back. You’re a new blogger and you’re unknown to the rest of the world. It’s going to take some time to come into the limelight. However, if you create an e-book for free and begin some heavy promotion, chances are you’ll become noticed, if the e-book is well written.

An eBook doesn’t require any hardcore design skills. This can be easily created in
Microsoft Word. No need to use Quark Express or Adobe InDesign. Creating a successful reputation takes time to build. Giving anyway some freebies is a great way to promote your blog and traffic.

7 – Develop a series of articles

Just like a soap opera, each episode continues from the previous one and in proper sequence. Consider developing a variety of articles that become a series. If you’d made a 10,000 word article that could be ideally broken down into segments – break it down. A three or five part series will also give your readers an opportunity to subscribe to your RSS feed. Provide cliff hangers to your blog series articles and give your readers a reason to return.

8 – End with related articles

You’ve created an excellent post. You’ve engaged the reader and they’ve left a comment. You’ll always find that some readers want to know more about a certain subject. Help is at hand. Install the Yet Another Related Posts Plugin for WordPress – this handy plugin displays relevant links at the bottom of your article.

9 – Create an FAQ page

Every industry has its jargon and especially the Internet. Do you think your readers know what an RSS feed is? Create information that educates your readers. Plus interlink those jargon terms to a glossary.

Some readers won’t be familiar with terms like: PHP; conversion rate; bounce rate; SEO; Google Page Rank or PPC. A glossary can be an easy method to educate your readers.

10 – Display your popular articles

There are a variety of methods of displaying popular articles. You can use an: image
slider or you can display popular articles in your sidebar. However, you choose to focus on highlighting great information for your readers.

11- Use excerpts

On your home page of your blog, avoid placing huge streams of text on your blog. You want readers to click further into your site. Remember your home page is like the front page of a magazine.

Usability is vital for a successful blog and to generate page views. Apply the above techniques to your blog today.

Hope, this article will help you a lot and give you a clear idea to create a successful blog post. Keep sharing this post and let other bloggers grow successfully. Feel free to share your comments below. I will appreciate your feedback.

How To increase Traffic on your Blog or website?

How to increase blog or website Traffic quickly?

Todays Blogging is on demand. Every business website has started blogging to bring more traffic to their websites.
As like others we also want more traffic to our website, don’t we? We all would love to see our Google Analytics accounts filled with a high number of visits, right?

Of course, we all want successful blogs having an effective content. For some, having a high number of page views is critical – especially if you’re looking forward to make money with advertising or Google AdSense.

In this article, I’ll give you a variety of actions that you can apply to your own blog. When you start blogging, your main focus is to generate great content and get noticed.

But let’s know about page views first.

What are page views?

Page views are considered as the hits which your own page or blog will receive once visited by the users. More the visitors view your posts; more will be the increment in your page views.

Five Stages Of Effective Blogging

Effective Content

I know you’ve heard this a million times that “Content is King”. When new bloggers start creating their content for the first time, their blog looks small and they have a less number of subjects to write about. But as time goes on and they start capitalizing on the subjects, gather some great content their blog begins to grow.

However, if you’re thinking to start a blog – write 10 to 15 great articles first before you publish your blog. When you start promoting your blog readers will have something to see and will find something new to read.
Unfortunately, we didn’t do hard work and without effective content we post our blogs and wait for the blog to become popular. If there’s no content to share – your blog will not consider as meaningful. When you have over 50 good articles, your blog will start becoming popular and you’ll have some great audience and readers that will share your posts.

Visit sites like: Twitter, Yahoo Answers and read other blogs to see where people are having problems. Then start planning to write the articles that are related to their problems. Content that solves problems is always in demand. Look at the number of self-help forums and blogs that are very successful.

Contribution

How are your levels of contribution these days? Do you give more of yourself? Successful bloggers and business owners’ contribute a lot more and offer more value. As a blogger, you need to contribute a lot more too.
There are a variety of ways to contribute. You can:

    Create videos.
    Host interviews with successful people.
    Create pod-casts.
Create an eBook and give away for free.
Write guest posts on certain blogs.
    Provide a content-rich newsletter.
Develop a series of tutorials that provide great value to the reader.

Outstanding contribution provides: creditability; high quality service and further opportunities. Blogging is a long-term vehicle. This is not a “get-rich” scheme. It is a slow process but yet very effective.

Community

Successful people value their communities. A community is where people share and contribute: ideas; values; skills and beliefs. Businesses rely on their communities and networks to keep their business going. Serving your community is the most empowering way of becoming successful. The more value you add to your contribution and community – the stronger your blog will become.

Focus on lowering your bounce rate

A low bounce rate is a sign of a good blog. If I bounce a ball against a wall you’ll notice that the ball doesn’t stay on the wall for long. The same principle is applied to your blog pages. If I click on your blog page and don’t click on anything else – I’ve bounced off your blog. In essence, your goal is to attain my interest. A good bounce is about 25%-30%.

Make your home page like the front page of a magazine. Make it simple and yet effective. Include relevant things there and neglect the unnecessary part. You can also take the help of a magazine. Pick up a magazine and look at the front cover and see what grabs your attention? Apply the same concept on your home page as well. Moreover, you can use features like Facebook Like Button and Like Box on your home page to bring more visitors to your website.

Why should I stay on your blog?

The only thing I care about is: “If you can help me with my problems?” If you can help me with a problem I am more likely to stay. This is why the top bloggers succeed. Egos can destroy you if you’re a blogger. Focus on what’s important – the reader!

2013 Top 5 Young Universities that shocks you

2013 Top 5 Young Universities

1. Hong Kong University of Science & Technology (HKUST)

Also number one in this year’s QS University Rankings: Asia, HKUST was established in 1991. It ranks 33rd in the latest QS World University Rankings, and has benefitted from strong government funding. Impressively, it’s almost within the world’s top 50 in the latest global survey of academics, and also within the top 100 for employer reputation and faculty-student ratio. However its strongest scores are for the international diversity of staff and students – it ranks 10th worldwide for international diversity of staff, and 23rd for students.

2. Nanyang Technological University (NTU)

Singapore’s NTU was also founded in 1991 – though there was a different institution, Nanyang Technological Institute, on the same site before this. It’s currently 47th in the world ranking, and 10= in the QS University Rankings: Asia – and on an upwards trajectory!  In the global reputation surveys, it’s rated within the world’s top 50 by employers, and in the top 60 by academics. It has an even higher score than HKUST for international faculty – ranking 5th worldwide on this indicator.

3. University of Warwick

The UK is best known for its historic centers of learning, Oxford and Cambridge, but in fact has lots of leading young universities too. Seven of this year’s Top 50 Under 50 are from the UK, led by Warwick, which is currently ranked 58th in the world. Warwick is rated strikingly well by employers – 13th worldwide – and again scores very well on the internationalization indicators. It’s also making good progress on the research citations measure. However, next year it turns 50, so will no longer be eligible for a place in the Top 50 Under 50!

4. Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST)

Back to Asia, to another product of the region’s growing investment in higher education – this time in Korea. Established in 1971, KAIST is one of two Korean universities established by the government to focus on science and technology subjects – the second being Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH), established in 1986 and just two places behind KAIST in the Top 50 Under 50. KAIST is currently 63rd in the QS World University Rankings, and definitely on the way up – it climbed an impressive 27 places last year.

5. City University of Hong Kong (CUHK)

And finally, another leading young university from Hong Kong. Established in 1984, CUHK is ranked 95= in the latest QS World University Rankings, sharing this position with the US’s prestigious Purdue University (which is much older – founded in 1869). Like its fellow Hong Kong institution, HKUST, it’s been particularly successful at attracting academics from overseas – it ranks 12th worldwide on the measure of international diversity of faculty.

Mac Vs PC

Mac Vs PC

As you may have heard, last week we launched our new international student forum, a free online discussion room where students worldwide can share advice and experiences. One of the most popular forum topics so far has been the Mac or PC debate – what’s the best computer for students?

1. What’s your student budget?
How much can you really afford to spend on a computer? Be honest with yourself, and make sure you keep your technology spending in proportion to your overall student budget. You may feel a bit silly in six months time if you’ve got the flashiest laptop on campus, but can’t afford to go out for a coffee with friends.

(Key point in the Mac or PC debate: Macs tend to be a lot more expensive than most PCs.)

2. Do you REALLY need a new computer?

This is strongly linked to point number one! Student budgets are generally pretty tight, so if you can manage to cope without spending money on a new computer, quite simply: don’t.

Just because all your friends are getting a new computer, doesn’t mean you should automatically follow suit. And even if your five-year-old laptop seems like it’s on its last legs, it may be worth hanging onto for at least the first term of university.

That way you have a bit more time to figure out exactly what you need - have a go on your friends' computers and see which you prefer! (Just remember to keep all your work backed up in case your old one does suddenly crash...)
3. What will you actually use it for?

This point is essential, and is part of the reason it can be useful to wait a while before jumping into a purchase. As one of our student forum users pointed out, the choice between a Mac or PC may come down to the type of course you’re studying. There’s a common perception that Macs are better for image-based types of work, such as graphic design. However, this isn’t necessarily the case – so before making your investment, try to wait until you’ve had a chance to find out exactly what’s needed for your course.

4. When and where will you use it?

A related point is when and where you plan to use your computer. Increasingly many students take their laptop almost everywhere with them – using it to type notes in lectures, at the library, in cafes and so on. Others still choose to keep their laptop mainly as a home computer, and rely on good old pen and paper in most other situations.

This may not help you choose between a Mac or PC, but if you are planning to carry your computer around lots, you know it’ll be worth investing in something lighter.
5. What computer lab facilities can you access?

If it turns out there’s a big gap between your student budget and the technology you need for your course, don’t panic! Find out what computer lab facilities the university has available. If you need special software or hardware for your course, it’s likely that your department will provide these for students to use.

In addition, some universities have financial support available to help students purchase equipment that’s really essential for their studies. So if you’re still feeling stuck, approach either a member of staff in your department or the university access team to discuss possible options.
6. What student computer discounts are available?

Finally, for most purchases you make during your time at university, you’ll find there are student discounts available. Shop around, do your research, and ask questions. Even if you don’t see any student computer discounts advertised in the shop or on the website, it may be worth asking just in case.

This is definitely an issue a lot of people have strong opinions about, so please share yours! Would you choose a Mac or PC? What’s the most important thing to consider when choosing a computer for university? Have you (shock, horror) even managed to survive student life WITHOUT a laptop?

How to Watch Hulu and Netflix outside US?

How to Watch Hulu outside US?

Last time, when I visited the USA, we subscribed both Hulu and Netflix. Both Hulu and Netflix have wide verities of videos for all genres. Back to India, when we tried opening Hulu, we got the message “Sorry, currently our video library can only be watched from within United States”. And the same message, we got while we tried opening Netflix. We will see here, how can we watch Hulu outside US.
I understood that both the operators are tracking my geo-location through my ip. I tried to find out a way to watch Hulu outside US. Different free web-proxy sites are definitely an answer for the same. But the problem with the proxy sites, that they seldom assign a proxy server in the USA for me. They always try to assign a proxy nearest to my country. And the same goes valid if you want to use a VPSVPN.

I was in constant search if there is any work around to watch Hulu outside US. Then suddenly one day, I found an extension for Chrome, which claims that by installing the extension, I can access any site all over the world. If you are the one, who is still looking how to access Hulu, Netflix or any other site, where there is regional restriction, you can use the extension Media Hint. MediaHint only works with Chrome and Firefox. There is no set up required for MediaHint. Just install it and you are ready to go.

How To Increase traffic on your blog ?

How to Get Traffic Spike Or good Traffic On your Blog?

It’s a moment any site owner both looks forward to, and dreads: a huge surge in traffic to your site (yay!) can often cause your site to crash (boo!). Maybe you’ll create a piece of viral content, or get Slashdotted, or maybe Larry Page will get a tattoo and your site on tech tattoos will be suddenly in vogue.

Many people go online immediately after a noteworthy event—a political debate, the death of a celebrity, or a natural disaster—to get news and information about that event. This can cause a rapid increase in traffic to websites that provide relevant information, and may even cause sites to crash at the moment they’re becoming most popular. While it’s not always possible to anticipate such events, you can prepare your site in a variety of ways so that you’ll be ready to handle a sudden surge in traffic if one should occur:

Prepare a lightweight version of your site.
Consider maintaining a lightweight version of your website; you can then switch all of your traffic over to this lightweight version if you start to experience a spike in traffic. One good way to do this is to have a mobile version of your site, and to make the mobile site available to desktop/PC users during periods of high traffic. Another low-effort option is to just maintain a lightweight version of your homepage, since the homepage is often the most-requested page of a site as visitors start there and then navigate out to the specific area of the site that they’re interested in. If a particular article or picture on your site has gone viral, you could similarly create a lightweight version of just that page.

A couple tips for creating lightweight pages:
Exclude decorative elements like images or Flash wherever possible; use text instead of images in the site navigation and chrome, and put most of the content in HTML.
Use static HTML pages rather than dynamic ones; the latter place more load on your servers. You can also cache the static output of dynamic pages to reduce server load.

Take advantage of stable third-party services.
Another alternative is to host a copy of your site on a third-party service that you know will be able to withstand a heavy stream of traffic. For example, you could create a copy of your site—or a pared-down version with a focus on information relevant to the spike—on a platform like Google Sites or Blogger; use services like Google Docs to host documents or forms; or use a content delivery network (CDN).

Use lightweight file formats.
If you offer downloadable information, try to make the downloaded files as small as possible by using lightweight file formats. For example, offering the same data as a plain text file rather than a PDF can allow users to download the exact same content at a fraction of the filesize (thereby lightening the load on your servers). Also keep in mind that, if it’s not possible to use plain text files, PDFs generated from textual content are more lightweight than PDFs with images in them. Text-based PDFs are also easier for Google to understand and index fully.
Make tabular data available in CSV and XML formats.
If you offer numerical or tabular data (data displayed in tables), we recommend also providing it in CSV and/or XML format. These filetypes are relatively lightweight and make it easy for external developers to use your data in external applications or services in cases where you want the data to reach as many people as possible, such as in the wake of a natural disaster.

Are You Prepared for a Career Change?

Are You Prepared for a Career Change?

You might want to switch your career, because you are bored with your current job, or your skills have become obsolete, or you have recently discovered your passion in a new area that you would like to develop a life-long career in. According to a survey conducted by U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics in April 2008, Americans average three to five career changes by the age of 38 and only 2% of people surveyed are working in the occupation they had planned when they were 18 years old. While 80% of people aged above 45 have considered changing careers, only 6% actually do. Clearly, career change is not an uncommon phenomenon, but not all people are successful in doing so. It is therefore important to be both psychologically and technically prepared when you look for a career change and this article intends to offer you some advice.Be prepared to start from a lower rank
If you have been working for a long number of years and are quite experienced in your current field, it is likely that you are already quite high up in the career ladder. In fact, an AARP survey reports that 6% of workers over 50 are in the process of reconsidering their careers. An accounting manager who is in charge of a team of twenty subordinates might find it hard to secure a job of a similar rank in the field of interior design, for example, as he/she is rather green in the new area and lacks the experience required for such a senior position. When you decide to change your career, it is essential for you to be psychologically prepared to start from the lower, or even the bottom, rank, in particularly if you are switching to a completely different field. You may find yourself under the supervision of someone five to ten years your junior – is it something you are comfortable with? Assess yourself truthfully and ask yourself honestly if you are ready to face such a scenario.
The money issue also comes into play here – are you happy to accept a lower salary? Though a career transition might not necessarily involve a salary reduction, some drop in salary usually occurs when you step out of your comfort zone and work in a completely new arena, because ‘you typically aren’t worth as much in your new career path as you were in your old career’ (qtd. in DeZube).
Show your commitment
You need to convince your potential employer that you are committed to a new career. It is natural and sensible that employers would query how dedicated you are for a change and why you take such a step. An answer such as ‘It’s because I always want to work in this field’ is definitely not enough and sounds pathetically weak. It is thus important that you show your commitment for the change, as this can greatly boost your chances of success in getting your first interview and ultimately landing on the job.

Doing the research. Make sure you spend some time to do sufficient research into the field you intend to switch to. This probably sounds obvious, as you should know something about it before deciding to move into it. However, knowing a little bit is not enough. You need to demonstrate a more thorough understanding of the field and be prepared to elaborate when being asked.
Taking qualifications. Needless to say, employers would be impressed if you are able to get a qualification that is relevant to the new job, as this is a clear indication of your commitment and readiness to move forward. So, if you have the budget and time to take out some relevant qualifications for your new job, do it now and think of it as an investment in your new career.

Prepare a Skills-Based CV
Your CV is always your key to secure a first interview. You might think you have to trash your old CV to the bin when you look for a career switch. In fact, there is no need to do it. What you have to do is to be selective and critical about your past achievements – select the parts that are relevant and delete others that will be of no interests to your new employer. Transferable skills, such as leadership, management, communications, IT and language, can easily find their place in your revised CV. Technical skills that are only relevant to your current industry are not essential and can be taken out. A more appropriate format for your CV should now be skills-based: instead of highlighting your work experience, you have to emphasise your transferable skills to demonstrate your flexibility and adaptability to the new field.
Stay patient!
It might take a while for you to land on a job out of your current industry, as it is understandable that some employers might be sceptical about your move and commitment. It is therefore very important that you remain patient and not to lose steam. At some point while you are searching for your new job, you might question yourself whether it is a sensible move to switch to a completely new field, or you would query your competence as a person as a whole. All these self-questionings and reflections are normal and you have to accept this as part of the career change process. Remember, perseverance is one of the keys to a successful career change.
